What Makes a Champion? - With Shane Plummer as seen on QHN

What makes a champion? What makes them different than the rest? What gives them the edge that elevates them above all the rest out there? What is in the heart of a champion, and why doesn’t everyone have it? It takes great work ethic, dedication and sacrifice, but more than that, it takes talent!

Kevin Durant once said, “Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard, but if talent works hard, you’re screwed.”

The Augusta Futurity crowned two champions by two of the SDP Buffalo Ranch stallions:

Somethingtobelievein, by Hydrive Cat and out of the TR Dual Rey mare Playin T Etta, has a heart of a champion. This mare has shown that time and time again. Trained by Brett McGlothlin and shown by him and his wife, Jody, Somethingtobelievein and her connections are a force!

In Augusta, the mare earned the Classic Open Championship in a field of extremely tough competitors. She also was third overall in the Classic Non-Pro.

As Michael Jordan put it, “Get the fundamentals down and the level of everything you do will rise.”

Lite Switch and Kaitlyn Larsen

Lite Switch and Kaitlyn Larsen finished as Non-Pro Co-Champions at the Augusta Futurity. This impressive gelding (Light N Lena x Duals Play Kitten x High Brow Cat) is now among the long list of champions that have been raised by 72 Ranch and sired by their own $1.9 million sire – the GREAT Light N Lena. The future is exciting! Next stop Las Vegas.
